T echnical S kills
  • Ceramics:
    • Techniques: Throwing, handbuilding, extruding, additive and subtractive processes, plaster mold making, etc
    • Kilns/Firings: kiln construction and firing, electric, gas, soda, salt, and wood kilns
    • Raw Materials: mixing and measuring raw materials for clay, slip, and glaze calculation and testing line blends and tri-axles.
    • Studio: Maintenance and safety
  • Photography: Understanding manual setting of camera operations, black and white film development, black room and printing in black and white, understanding of digital camera settings and function, lighting, and able to photograph artwork for digital slides.
  • Drawing: Classes since 1994, skilled in creating compositions with an understanding and application of the elements and principles of design.          
  • Woodshop: Certification with various hand and stationary power tools such as table and radial arm saws, sanding machines, joiner and planers, drill press, etc.
  • Technology and Software: Experience in using and creating WebPages and Cites, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, Windows Movie Maker, Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop Elements on Macintosh and PC computers.
  • Exhibition Instillation: Experience in gallery lighting, hanging work on
    the wall with correct measurements, and understanding spatial and balance problem solving within gallery. Assisted the following professionals’ show setups:
